The Lone Ranger (2013) - Gore Verbinski

I think the other critics are being unnaturally unkind to this film. It's a good movie, sure, a little slow in parts, but the action sequences (mostly on trains) are stunning to view, and amazing feats of filmmaking.
As a big fan of westerns, I noticed references to The Searchers (1956) - John Ford, Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) - Sergio Leone, Back to the Future Part III (1990) - Robert Zemeckis and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) - also Sergio Leone, amongst others; they're obvious if you watch them, and shots are made into lovely homages. Go and see it.
Ignore the other critics, if you like Westerns especially, go and see it!

Hot Tub Time Machine (2010) - Steve Pink

A lovely bit of silliness for a Tuesday evening. I am disappointed John Cusack hasn't signed on to be in the sequel, but maybe it won't be as good as the first one anyway. I like the part played by Crispin Glover, who is a veteran of time travel movies (George McFly in Back to the Future (1985) - Robert Zemeckis) as it gives the humour, even when it probably shouldn't.

Back to the Future Part III (1990) - Robert Zemeckis

So ends possibly the greatest trilogy of films of all time. Ha. Time.

Flight (2012) - Robert Zemeckis

Robert Zemeckis is brilliant; every credit to his name deserves to be an awards winner, but there are only a couple that get there. Flight is much of the same kind of thing. You know it won't win an Oscar, but that doesn't mean it isn't up there with the best of the year. Denzel Washington shines out, and every little touch seems perfectly written.
